Just 'Cuz Everyone Else Is Doing It

Hey, if it's good enough for Ian and Doug, I guess I can fuck with this iTunes Survey thing that's been floating around the blogosphere.... Here goes nothin'.

How Many Songs: 2147 (Bear in mind that a lot of my CDs are not ripped to iTunes, due to my iPod's current lack of functionality and various computer problems, plus the fact that I often burn CD's and remove them from my computer-- in other words, that number is low. I'm a much, much, much bigger music dork than that number suggests....)

Sort by song

First Song: "$$$$," Desaparecidos

Last Song: "Zenophile," Mylo

Sort by artist

First artist: 10 Years (cringe....)

Last artist: Zero 7

Sort by time

Shortest Song: "Pagina Uno. Introduccion," Prefuse 73/The Books (0:07)

Longest Song: "Cop Shoot Cop," Spiritualized (17:13)

Sort by album

First album: 2001, Dr. Dre

Last album: You Forgot It In People, Broken Social Scene

Top Three Most Played Songs: (Note: I tend to listen to full albums in the car, while I tend to fixate on one specific song when I'm at home, and play it ad nauseum for about a week straight until I get sick of it)
1. "Thunderstruck," AC/DC (45-- god, thats a lot)
2. "Bleed From Within," The Music (23)
3. "Infra-Red," Placebo (20)

Song That First Comes Up On Shuffle: "All of My Thoughts," Spiritualized (weird....)

Search...

"Sex," How many songs come up?: 4
"Death," How many songs come up?: 21 (thank you, Death From Above 1979)
"Love," How many songs come up?: 63
"You," How many songs come up?: 252

See, wasn't that just barrels of fun? Didn't you learn so much about me?

yo homie,

baseball season is almost here. if i recall correctly, you said that you don't usually mess with spring training. but this year there is something else going on with baseball... the World Baseball Classic. i was wondering what your views/predictions/observations might be on this historic event.
it's great when you write about music, but i miss the dope sports commentary.

Ok Ev doggie, since Mr Alper be lovin on the Music, whether you like it or not, you will get MY predictions.

Dominicana Dominicana Dominicana! The Americans are going to get the USS Cole treatment from the hard-hitting dominicans.

I mean we all compared the rosters? I hope we dont think its going to be game after game of pitching duels do we, because that aint gonna fly. Assuming its going to be a slugfest, the "Miricans" as Bush says it, have an ice-cubes chance in Vegas.

Given that the Dominican team isnt heavy on pitching with most notably Bartolo and Pedro headlining, thats where they could have trouble. But again, looking at this festival as a slugfest, how can the Americans possibly contend with Vladdy Daddy, Manny, Ortiz, my boy Robinson, Soriano and this guy i never heard of ALbert something, I think he plays for the Cardinals, must be some call-up or something like that.

The Americans are somehow able to assemlbe somewhat of a decent pitching staff (the best in the classic maybe with Clemens, Sabathia, Peavy, Dontrelle) but that isnt going to matter. All of these games are played in very hot places, where the ball will travel and the Americans cannot hold up in a slugfest with their lineup (although they do have AGod, I mean Arod).

I think this fucking world bullshit classic is just Selig getting in good with his latino yayo connection. I am a yankee fan and sure as hell dont want any casualties as a result of this charade. If Jeter, Arod or Clemens (thats right Im banking on Clemens yankeeifying after the classic) or any other superstars get hurt, Selig will have to explain why he held the bullshit classic in March as opposed to November/December when people need baseball the most.

I know im ethnocentric, but am I wrong to consider this a two-team tournament? Who else can contend besides Dominicana and America? Venezuela maybe??? I mean they do have Johan Santana, Chacin, Feddy Garcia, the Zambranos (Ha!), and bats like Miggie Cabrera, Mora, Izturis, but overall no thickness.

Im terribly sorry people. My bad; I forgot about the stacked South African, Australian and Dutch teams who combined have about 3 guys I have heard of.

Go America, I guess??

fish scales has leaked..... hmmm; i'll just wait for it.

if its the one of the best albums of the decade, then the carter admistration will undoubtledly push it back again. nothing can be better than 'ye.

on "wet wipes," the more and more i listen to it, the more it sounds like the alchemist.
